Commanding Officer

George Harrison

George has long been an inseparable member of Lord Hopton's Regiment, first joining sometime in the early to mid seventies. Made his initial impact as a heroic pikeman (as I'm constantly assured they all were about this time), before starting out on a twenty five year route to the top job in the regimental bun fight stakes.

A man of limitless talent when armed with a mallet, hammer or club and will happily spend most of his time at a muster putting up tents, taking them down or advising people as to the best way of so doing. Apart from his tent erecting skills George has ferried the regimental truck up and down the country (normally overweight (the truck that is)) arriving first at musters to get all the kitchen tents organised before the hoards of lazy %"*&^ (his words not mine) turn up to barrack him!

George was the first of the four most senior officers to be given the prestigious 'Forlorn Hope' medal for twenty years service to the Kings Army, receiving his award four years ago at the Whitehall Parade in London.

All this glory, fame and responsibility finally went to his head and to most people's surprise George told his assembled officers that he would be stepping down as Regimental C.O. at the end of this current season (2003). This was greeted with rioting and dismay by the gathering and order was only maintained by George after he stated that in all likelihood he would still attending the musters in the truck with all the regimental kit. His long suffering wife Margaret was last seen marching off muttering something about solicitors and irretrievable breakdowns!!
